But I can relate, sort of..My parents divorced when I was quite young, but I haven't really felt the lack of a father until these last few years. No undue insults to my mother, who has done everything for me, but I really wish I had had a good father. It totally misses the point that marriage has turned into a legal institution not worth defending. It misses that point most gays and lesbians would reasonably want to avoid the legal institution of marriage.<BR/><BR/><I>In short, it seems that Blankenhorn wants to protect children by protecting marriage and thinks that allowing people to marry who won't or can't have children somehow conflicts with this. Many of the women that I have met talk about and describe their need for a father or a need for their children to have a father. To me it is less than bullshit. Their actions speak much louder than their words. <BR/><BR/> This womans words are laudable, and I commend them. Men certainly don't need women shoved in their face, many Men need fraternity, brotherhood and friendship, shown to them by either their fellow males, or by society in general in light of the broken family. There at least needs to be a bond between us, instead of all of us fighting each other over a piece of ass/money/whatever.<BR/><BR/> I have seen what comes of letting one half of the balance make all of the decisions in life. So have you all in my view. I have also seen and lived what happens when WE as MEN let this abomination happen to all of us. Our children are OURS, to raise as we see fit, much like THEY do to us. <BR/><BR/> WE ARE NOT SLAVES. Nor should we be.
